Countee
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Countee (“Countee”, “the App”, “the Website”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and processes information when you use the Countee application, website, and related services.
1. Data Controller
Countee is operated by:
Davor Peić-Gavran
DigitalTaco (sole proprietor business)
Croatia
Email: [email protected]
2. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- the Countee mobile and desktop application, and
- the Countee website available at counteeapp.com.
The App and Website process different categories of information. The App primarily stores user-generated data locally on the user’s device, while the Website may process limited technical and analytics-related information associated with website visits.
3. Core Privacy Approach
Countee is designed with a local-first approach. User-generated session data is stored locally on the user’s device. We do not operate a cloud account system for session content and we do not store user session data on our servers.
This architecture helps minimize the amount of personal information processed by the Countee service.
4. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Depending on how you use the App, Countee may store the following categories of information locally on your device:
- template labels,
- session labels,
- key names and event configuration,
- frequency counts,
- duration measurements,
- observations and comments,
- timestamps and session timing data,
- app preferences and settings.
This information remains on your device unless you delete it, export it, or remove the App.
5. Information We Collect Through the App
We collect limited technical, diagnostic, and usage-related information necessary to improve app stability, performance, and functionality.
This may include:
- app version,
- build number,
- device type,
- operating system version,
- technical crash information, and
- anonymous diagnostic data related to app stability.
- basic app usage information such as app launches and session activity.
We do not use these diagnostics to identify you personally through the App.
This information is not used to identify individual users and is not used for advertising or profiling purposes.
6. Crash Reporting and App Diagnostics
Countee uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics, services provided by Google LLC, to process diagnostic and limited analytics information.
Firebase Analytics may collect limited technical information such as app version, device type, operating system version, and basic app usage data. This information is used to understand app performance and improve the user experience.
Firebase Crashlytics helps us identify stability issues and improve app reliability. We configure our use of this service to avoid collecting user session content stored within the App.
Users may disable analytics and diagnostics in the App settings where such controls are available.
7. Website Usage Data
When you visit the Countee website, certain technical information may be processed automatically by website infrastructure and analytics services. This may include:
- IP address,
- browser type and version,
- device type,
- operating system,
- pages visited,
- referring website, and
- timestamps of visits.
This information is used for website operation, security, performance monitoring, and understanding how visitors interact with the website.
8. Website Analytics
The Countee website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC.
Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors interact with the website, such as which pages are visited and how users navigate the site.
Google Analytics may process technical information such as IP address, browser information, device information, and website usage activity. This data may be processed on servers located outside the European Union.
Google Analytics is configured to anonymize IP addresses where supported.
Where required by applicable law, analytics technologies should be used only after appropriate user consent.
The Countee website provides a cookie consent banner that allows users to accept or reject optional analytics technologies.
More information about Google’s privacy practices can be found at Google Privacy Policy .
9. Fonts
The Countee website uses Google Fonts to display text consistently across devices.
When a page loads, your browser may request font files from Google servers. This request may include technical information such as your IP address and browser type.
More information about Google’s privacy practices can be found at Google Privacy Policy .
10. Cookies
The Countee website may use cookies or similar technologies to support analytics and improve website functionality.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help websites recognize returning visitors and understand usage patterns.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain website features.
11. Third-Party Services
Countee may use third-party services for diagnostics, analytics, and website functionality. These services may process technical information necessary to provide their functionality.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics - app crash reporting and diagnostics
- Firebase Analytics - app analytics and usage insights
- Google Analytics - website analytics
12. Exported Files and Sharing
Countee allows users to export data, including in Excel and CSV format, using the standard sharing features of the device operating system.
Exported files are generated locally on the device and sent only to destinations chosen by the user, such as email apps, file managers, or cloud storage providers.
We do not receive, host, or store exported files. Once data is exported through third-party apps or services, their privacy practices apply.
13. No Account Requirement
Countee does not currently require users to create an account to use core functionality. We do not maintain user profile accounts for session content.
14. Legal Bases Under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area, our legal bases for processing limited technical and diagnostic data may include:
- our legitimate interests in maintaining app security, stability, performance, and improving functionality
- your preferences and choices where optional analytics or diagnostics controls are available.
15. Data Retention
User-generated session content remains stored locally on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
Diagnostic and analytics-related information processed through third-party services may be retained according to those providers’ retention practices and our service configuration.
16. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to reduce privacy and security risks within the App and Website design. However, no software, website, or device environment can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for securing your own device, exported files, sharing destinations, backups, and access to any third-party services you use with exported data.
17. Sensitive or Regulated Data
Countee is not intended to be used as a medical record system or a platform for storing regulated health information or other sensitive personal data that you are not authorized to process.
Users are responsible for ensuring that they do not enter or export data in violation of applicable privacy, confidentiality, employment, education, healthcare, or data protection laws.
18. Children's Privacy
Countee does not knowingly collect personal data directly from children through account registration or user profile systems. If you believe personal data has been provided to us in error through diagnostic channels, please contact us.
19. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, including under the GDPR, you may have rights related to personal data, such as the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection.
Because core session content is stored locally on your own device and not on our servers, many data management actions can be completed directly by you within the App or by deleting App data.
For requests related to diagnostic or support-related data that we control, contact: [email protected]
20. International Processing
Some third-party service providers used for diagnostics and analytics, such as Google Firebase Crashlytics, Google Analytics, and Google Fonts, may process technical data on infrastructure located outside your country.
Such processing is governed by the applicable terms and safeguards of those providers.
21. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the version number and effective date shown on this page.
